Man Collects $763,000 He Thought Was a Scam

(March 31, 2017, NY Times) Imagine finding more than $700,000 under your couch cushions. That, essentially, is what happened to a man in South Carolina, who received a phone call from the state treasure Curtis Loftis, informing him that he was entitled to more than $763,000 in unclaimed cash. 

Pennsylvania has $3 billion in unclaimed cash, treasure

(March 7, 2017, ABC 27) Deep underground in Harrisburg sits the Pennsylvania Treasury vault. Built in 1939, it's housing a stash of cash that could belong to you. 

State's unclaimed fund has money not just for individuals

(February 27, 2017, WBTW) The state of South Carolina is holding about $550 million of unclaimed money that belongs to people across the state. Those millions of dollars are unclaimed because it has not made it to the rightful owner.
